What is an Arborist? The International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) created the certified arborist program as a standard for the tree care industry. To become an arborist, one must show a sufficient level of experience in the field as well as passing a rigorous examination covering 10 domains of tree-related knowledge. Then the arborist must continue to learn by attending seminars and taking further tests maintain this certification. Treepeople supports the work of the ISA by maintaining an active membership in the organization. We also support trees locally by donating our time to the Hoyt Arboretum.
